After dinner\, we will have a little competition between the Legion\, Auxiliary and\nthe SAL with a “Jeopardy” contest. All will be able to participate\, with the Commanders and\nPresident in control of the buzzers\, so bone on your Legion\, Auxiliary and SAL history – it’s sure\nto be a fierce competition!! Saturday will be the meetings for your respective organizations\, with\na dinner to follow which includes the whole family to round out the night. Our Master of\nCeremonies this year shall be our own Mark & Linda Dvorak\, who between both of them\, cover\nall our Legion Entities. Once again\, there will be a 50/50 raffle that will be drawn on Saturday\nnight and different raffles and drawings throughout the day. We will also be having on Sunday\nmorning\, May 21st\, our normal “All you can Eat Breakfast Buffet” with made to order omelets.\nThere will be a discounted ticket for Legion family members in your gift bags. SUMMARY:National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
DESCRIPTION:On Aug. 23\, 1994\, the United States Congress designated Dec. 7 as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Every year\, remembrance events are held at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial\, culminating in a commemoration ceremony on Dec. 7. \nEach year on Dec. 7\, Pearl Harbor Survivors\, veterans\, and visitors from all over the world come together to honor and remember the 2\,403 service members and civilians who were killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7\, 1941. A further 1\,178 people were injured in the attack\, which permanently sank two U.S. Navy battleships (the USS Arizona and the USS Utah) and destroyed 188 aircraft. \nThe United States flag is lowered to Half-Staff on December 7th.
