Located within Eagan’s Central Park at 1507 Central Parkway is the Eagan Tribute and Memorial Plaza honoring firefighters, police and the military.
The Tribute and Memorial Plaza was dedicated on October 14, 2010 and finished in 2011. The plaza features life-size bronze statues of a military member saluting, a firefighter carrying gear and patrol officer shielding a frightened little girl. It also features inscriptions for the memorial and ones for each statue. Additionally, it has the flag of the United States, the Eagan Police Department, and the Eagan Fire Department.
The concept of a memorial was from the Eagan Lioness Club past President Margo Danner. Along the way she met up with Past Post 594 Commander Tom Mullon who thought it was a great idea. Together they worked to make this dream become a reality.
The Plaza is right in the heart of Central Park where the 4th of July celebration is held. There have been numerous events there for Memorial Day, Veterans Day and 9/11 events.
