Both President Trump and Governor Dayton are Honoring the Shooting Victims of Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland

A PROCLAMATION
Our Nation shares the sorrow of those affected by the shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland. Americans across the country are united in calling upon God to be with the victims and to bring aid and comfort to their families and friends. As a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the terrible act of violence perpetrated on June 28, 2018, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, July 3, 2018. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this third day of July, in the year of our Lord two thousand eighteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-second.

Governor Dayton Orders Flags Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of the Victims of the Attack in Annapolis, Maryland
ST. PAUL, MN – In accordance with a proclamation issued this morning by President Donald Trump, Governor Mark Dayton has directed all United States flags and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota. As directed by the President’s proclamation, flags will be flown at half-staff beginning immediately, until sunset on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, as a mark of respect for the victims of the terrible act of violence in Annapolis, Maryland.
On Thursday, June 28, 2018, a reprehensible act of violence was committed against innocent journalists and a staff member at Capital Gazette Communications in Annapolis, Maryland, and the victims and their families deserve our honor, respect, and remembrance
Governor Dayton’s Proclamation:
WHEREAS: On Thursday, June 28, 2018, terrible acts of hatred and terror were committed against innocent people at the Capital Gazette Newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland; and
WHEREAS: The victims and their families deserve our honor, respect, and remembrance; and
WHEREAS: The President of the United States of America has lowered United States flags at all public buildings, grounds, and military posts of the Federal Government until sunset on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARK DAYTON, Governor of Minnesota, do hereby order all United States flags and Minnesota flags be flown at half~staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota immediately, until sunset Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in memory of the victims of this tragedy.
