Memorial Day – May 27, 2019 – was a rainy and cooler day than expected. Plans for a ceremony surrounding the Eagan Tribute and Memorial Plaza had to be moved around to accommodate the weather. Everything moved into the nearby shelter.
The annual Eagan Memorial Day is hosted by the Eagan “Beyond the Yellow Ribbon” Committee and presented by Daniel R. Olsen American Legion Post 594. The program featured the Post 594 Color Guard; musical selections including the National Anthem by the Eagan High School Concert Choir; reading names of the deceased military, police and fire within Eagan; a wreath laying by Wayne & Gwen Olsen and Taps by Joe Swierczek.
