On a cold and windy Wednesday (September 11th), citizens gathered to remember the events of 9/11 and honor those who died that day.
The event was held at the Eagan Tribute Plaza. The American Legion Daniel R. Olsen Post 594 Commander John Flynn was the master of ceremonies for the event. Local Girl Scouts led the audience in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
Eagan High School concert choir members Audrey Schwartz and Isabella Pellegrom sang the The Star-Spangled Banner and God Bless America. More members of the Concert Choir sang musical selections.
Eagan Auxiliary President Susan Flynn spoke about the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and how it changed America and its citizens. That was followed by Post 594 Color Guard members who raised the U.S., Fire, and Police flags from half-staff to full-staff.
The service concluded with a moment of silence, a benediction, and Past Post Commander Tom Mullon playing Taps.
