Members of Daniel R. Olsen American Legion Post 594 and Auxiliary Unit 594 held the 4th Annual Eagan Flag Retirement Ceremony on June 14th. This event was held at the Thomas Lake Park pavilion. Eight hundred and thirty-seven (837) flags had been gathered from the collection boxes at both the Eagan Community Center and Eagan Sam’s Club. Following a respectful ceremony, all flags were inspected. Those deemed unserviceable were retired in the most dignified way utilizing a well-tended bonfire. Twenty-two flags were found to be still serviceable and will be donated by the post to local schools, businesses, and residents.
