On Monday, September 11, 2023, the City of Eagan hosted a 9-11 Memorial Event at the Eagan Tribute and Memorial Park. The event included members of the Post 594 Color Guard, Eagan Fire Department Honor Guard, Eagan Police Department Honor Guard. Eagan High School students sand the National Anthem and played Taps. Eagan Boy and Girl Scouts performed the Pledge of Allegiance. The keynote address was given by Minnesota American Legion Firefighter of the Year, Paul Burgett – Eagan Fire Department. Post 594 Adjutant John Rayman was the MC, Post Chaplain Cindy Yanchury provided the invocation and read the names of deceased police officers. Post Historian David Hammer and retired Eagan Firefighter and member of the Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial Assocation read the names of deceased firefighters.
